Berlin / Munich, 28 September 2017 – Knoll International, one of the world’s leading design companies, is responsible for the new seating of the Auditorium of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The design team entrusted with the renovation of the historic building once again opted for the Conference Chairs designed by Eero Saarinen. The design from the years 1946-50, which is part of the Saarinen collection by Knoll, is one of the timeless design classics of the company. Already in 1958, Knoll had equipped the auditorium of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Place de Fontenoy 7 with conference chairs of this series. The new seating arrangement consists of 800 individual chairs with a base specially developed for the project.
