Founded more than 40 years ago by winegrower Francesco Cusumano, the family-owned company has since 2001 been successfully transformed from the production of grapes to independent wine production by his sons Alberto and Diego Cusumano. Dedicated to the philosophy of cru and terroir, they translate the climatic contrasts of Sicily into unique wines of international quality, thus contributing significantly to the revitalisation and development of winemaking on the island.
Cusumano exclusively presses grapes from their own vineyards: 517 hectares of growing area extend in different regions over the entire island. The vines emerging from these diverse terroirs mature in Cusumano’s in-house cellars at the family estate Partinico and in Alta Mora at the foot of Mount Etna. The synthesis of forward-looking modernisation and knowledge of the artisan tradition of the Sicilian viniculture produces wines of elegance, authenticity, clarity and density.
The quality is confirmed by awards of the wine guides Veronelli, Gambero Rosso, Bibenda, Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. The guide Vini Buoni d’Italia also honoured the winery as “Ecofriendly Winery of the Year” in 2014.
